Died.
Tuesday morning Dec. 19,1905, at his home near Torrance, Kansas, Mr. G. W. Gardenhire after a lingering illness. Mr. Gardenhire was among the old settlers of Grouse Creek, where he settled on a piece of government land and became one of Cowley's most prosperous farmers. He has for several years past made his home with one of his sons on the home ranch, Mrs. Gardenhire preceding him to that beyond, from whence none have ever yet returned. He was well known all over the county as a good citizen, and a upright business man and was respected by those who know him. He leaves several children to mourn his loss. His remains were laid to rest, in the Burden cemetery Wednesday, Rev. J. H. Jones preached the final sermon.
