UNCLE JOHN FOX, 98, COUNTY PIONEER AND UNIQUE CHARACTER DIES ON WEDNESDAY "Uncle" John Fox, one of the early settlers of this community, ninety-eight years old, and one of the county's most unique and forceful characters, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pattie Kellett at Herington, early Wednesday morning, where had been visiting a few weeks. "Uncle John" was a native of Kentucky, was a member of the Confederate army during the Civil War, and was an intense Democrat, seldom varying from straight allegiance to that party. The funeral service will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at the Christian church in Marion. |
