Death of Jefferson Daley

The news of the sudden death of Jefferson Duley, at the family home southwest of this city, last Sunday morning came as a shock to his relatives and many friends. His death was due to heart disease.

Jefferson Duley was bor on September 7, 1846, at Happy Valley, Harrison county, Missouri, and died at Stafford, Kansas, April 14, 1918, Age 71 years, 7 months and 7 days.. He was married on May 8, 1869, to Miss Martha Hatton and to this union five children were born; four girls and one boy. Two children, little Rosa died when two years of age, and Mrs. Lillie May Province died January 1, 1914, preceded him in death. His beloved wife also preceded him, having passed away on. March 1, 1917. He was the last of  eight children in his family. He leaves to mourn his death two daughters, Mrs. Mary A. Dickson of Stafford, Kansas, and Mrs. Carrie E. Adair of Stafford, Kansas, and one son, Cyrus Duley of Preston, Kansas, , besides other relatives and, a host of friends. He was an honest and upright man and one who will be greatly missed by the entire neighborhood.

Funeral services were held at the  Leesburg church on Tuesday morning at 11:30 o'clock and were conducted by Rev: 'Thomas Coats. Interment was made in the Leesburg cemetery. The Courier joins the friends in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
